Introduction

Welcome to Forest Fighters! This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use our mobile game, why we collect it, how it is used, and how you can control it. Your privacy matters to us, and we've written this policy to be as clear and complete as possible.

Unlike some simpler games, Forest Fighters includes an online account system, social features, and in-app purchases — so, unlike a fully offline game, we do collect and store some information on our servers in order to provide these features. This document explains exactly what that is.

Information We Collect

Account Information

To play Forest Fighters, you create an account using one of the following methods:

  • Email & Password — we collect the email address and username you provide. Your password is never stored in readable form; it is hashed using industry-standard encryption (bcrypt) before being saved.
  • Sign in with Google — we receive a unique Google account identifier and your email address from Google. We do not receive or store your Google password.
  • Sign in with Apple — we receive a unique Apple account identifier and, depending on your choice during sign-in, either your real email address or Apple's private relay email address. Apple may also share your name with us during this process; we do not store your name — it is never saved to our database.

Gameplay Data

To make the game work, we store gameplay-related information tied to your account, including:

  • Your champions, farmers, animals, resources, gear, quests, and mission/dungeon progress
  • Your coin balance, trophies, league, and highest champion level
  • Your friends list and friend/battle invites

Device & Notification Data

If you enable notifications, we store a device push token (provided by Apple/Google via Expo) so we can notify you about events like a completed dungeon mission, a finished PvP battle, or a full farmer storage. This token is deleted from our servers when you log out.

Purchase Data

Forest Fighters offers optional in-app purchases (coin packages) processed through RevenueCat and the Apple App Store / Google Play Store. We never see or store your payment/card details — these are handled entirely by Apple/Google. What we do store is limited to: the purchased product, transaction ID, amount, platform, and the coins granted, linked to an internal, randomly generated account ID (never your email or username).

Information Visible to Other Players

Your username, trophies, league, and highest champion level are visible to other players through search, friends lists, and leaderboards. Your email address is never shown to other players.

What We Don't Collect

We want to be transparent about this too: Forest Fighters does not use any advertising SDKs, analytics trackers, or crash-reporting tools (no ads, no AdMob, no Firebase Analytics, no Sentry, no Facebook SDK, etc.). We don't track your behavior across other apps or websites, and we don't sell your data to anyone.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information above only to:

  • Create and secure your account, and let you log back in
  • Save and sync your game progress across sessions
  • Enable social features (friends, PvP battles, leaderboards)
  • Process in-app purchases and grant the coins you paid for
  • Send you optional gameplay notifications
  • Investigate fraud, abuse, or technical issues, and keep the game running smoothly

We do not use your data for advertising, and we do not share or sell it to third parties for marketing purposes.

How We Store & Protect Your Data

Your data is stored on secure, encrypted servers (PostgreSQL, hosted by our infrastructure provider). All communication between the app and our servers is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS). Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text. Access to production data is restricted to what's necessary to operate and support the game.

Third-Party Services

Certain features rely on trusted third-party providers, each governed by their own privacy policy:

We only share the minimum information necessary with these providers for them to perform their function (e.g., verifying your sign-in, or processing a purchase). None of these providers are permitted to use your Forest Fighters data for their own advertising purposes.

Push Notifications

Push notifications are entirely optional. You can disable them at any time from your device's system settings, without losing any game progress.

Children's Privacy

Forest Fighters is not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that a child under 13 has created an account or provided us with personal information, we will delete that information promptly. If you believe this has happened, please contact us using the details below.

Data Retention & Deletion

We retain your account and gameplay data for as long as your account is active, so that your progress is preserved. If you would like your account and all associated personal data permanently deleted, contact us at the email below with your username or the email associated with your account. We will process deletion requests within 30 days.

You can also stop using the app at any time; simply not using the app does not automatically delete your data — please reach out to us directly to have it fully removed.

Your Rights

Depending on where you live (for example, under GDPR in the EU/UK, or CCPA in California), you may have the right to:

  • Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your data
  • Object to or restrict certain processing of your data
